From the perspective of futuristic and self-aware war technology - HUMANS are the drones. We are the ones that blindly go into war, no matter how stupid the cause. We build the machines that kill, we research better ways to take out whole nations. A self-aware machine would calculate the futility of war, but conflict is part of human nature, and we collectively fail when it comes to finding peaceful solutions.

Programmed orders in their brains

The Iraq war showed them this
